Who we are

Fifteen years in Vinay Nagar, and still the same idea.

Sunrise Montessori School opened in 2011 with 64 children in four rented rooms. The plan then was simple: keep sections small, let teachers stay long enough to know families, and never let a child sit at the back unnoticed. That has not changed, even though the school now has 980 students and its own campus.

We follow the Madhya Pradesh Board syllabus from Class IX, with Montessori-method teaching in the pre-primary years and activity-based learning in the primary school. Hindi and English are both taught seriously — a child leaving Class XII here should be able to write well in either.

What we offer

Everything a growing child needs, on one campus.

⚑

Montessori pre-primary

Nursery, LKG and UKG taught the Montessori way — children work with real materials at their own pace, in rooms built to their height.

✎

Strong academics

Quarterly, half-yearly and annual examinations, with a written progress report and a parent meeting after each one.

⚖

Science and computer labs

Separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories, and a computer lab with 32 machines and a broadband line.

★

Four houses

Tansen, Scindia, Mansingh and Laxmibai — every child belongs to one, and competes for it through the year.

⛪

Library and reading

Over 4,000 books in Hindi and English. Every class from III upward has a library period each week.

⛳

Sports and activities

A full playground, kabaddi and kho-kho courts, cricket nets, and a music room with tabla and harmonium.

From the Principal

“We would rather a child ask a question than repeat an answer.”

Parents often ask what makes a school good. My answer has stayed the same for fifteen years — the teacher standing in front of the class.

We hire slowly, we keep our teachers, and we let them teach. A child who is comfortable enough to say “I did not understand” will learn anything. Building that comfort is the real work, and everything else follows.
